Why hello there!
Precise Pixels is a web design company based in Canterbury, Kent.
We pride ourselves on creating websites that are functional, intuitive and that look fantastic!
'Nitpick' is a word that is heard a lot when we are working on websites. We change things down to the tiniest detail, even something that is only a few pixels askew; hence the name Precise Pixels.
We are currently partaking in industrial placement years at the BBC and Disney as part of our Multimedia Technology and Design degree at the University of Kent.
For our Interaction Design module, we were put into groups of 4 to re-design an existing website. During this project, the two of us realised that we worked extremely well together. At the end of the project, we were approached by the lecturer who was so impressed by our project that she offered to put us in contact with some paid work! This paid work ultimately became People United.
All of this work can be viewed in the Our Work section.
We are both working here as Web Consultants.
People United is an arts charity. Our lecturer put us in contact with them after seeing our university work (see About Us for the full story).
We maintain their website (not originally built by us) and do any design or computer-related work that they require.
The Peking Restaurant is a traditional chinese restaurant in Gravesend.
Their old website is a virtually purposeless template website that does not do the restaurant any justice.
We are creating them a basic but professional website to showcase the restaurant with menus, prices and photos taken by us.
Holland Transfer Solutions is an executive taxi service based in the Rotterdam, Amsterdam and The Hague areas of Holland.
The client was not happy with their old website and we had some ideas of ways to improve it.
We are giving it a new, slick feel ensuring that the professional, executive integrity of Holland Transfer Solutions is reflected in their website.
We were given a real charity website (What it used to look like) to redesign after learning the theory from our Interaction Design lectures at the University of Kent.
Four students worked together on this project. Our individual portfolios are as follows:
I display the majority of my personal work here.
Since going to university it has also become my portfolio for all the work I do there too.
This website was made as a project for the Website Design section of my course.
It is a basic 'about me' website that uses new HTML5 standards.
We were required to ensure that both the HTML and CSS validates and that it works in both Firefox and Internet Explorer.
James Lee and Jacob Hammond were recommended to us by their course director at the University of Kent. We were in need of specialist help in developing our web site and communications. They have responded quickly to all of our requests for help and performed them in a professional manner. They are clear about their roles and skills and how they complement each other's work, making a great team.
With the help of James and Jacob we have significantly improved our web site, upgraded our software to Microsoft Office 2010 and feel more confident about our future communications with our stakeholders.
The Peking Restaurant is very satistified with what James and Jacob have done and we are very happy with the price.
I would definitely recommend their work to other businesses.
