Movies

I enjoy watching many movies, I have listed a few of my favourites here.
The movies I enjoy the most are the kind that are almost unstructured in their approach to a story line. And the kind that make you wonder what is going on and don't reveal it until the very end. Good acting is also something that attracts me to a movie. This page contains my top 6 movies in no particular order.
These are: The Dark Knight, Pulp Fiction, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, A Clockwork Orange, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, The Shawshank Redemption.

The Dark Knight is definitely one of my favourite movies, from the dark story line to the amazing acting it contains everything I like in a movie. In particular Heath Ledgers performance as The Joker was the part I most enjoyed about it.

I cannot wait for the 2012 realease of "The Dark Knight Rises", this sequel to this film. Although sadly heath ledger will not be present.

Pulp Fiction

Pulp Fiction

(1994)

Possibly my favourite movie of all time. Pulp Fiction's crazy story line which is both seemingly unstructured and crazy makes it something I admire. The humour as well as the great acting from people such as Samuel L. Jackson who was nominated for an oscar for his role as Jules Winnfield makes this the perfect movie for me. Quentin Tarantinos unique style of directing made it enthrawling and was the first of his movies I watched.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is in a way similar to Pulp Fiction in terms of its crazy storyline and how many things are going on at the same time throughout the movie. The movie which combines a lot of humour with the violence and ruthlessness of a gangster movie makes it appealing to more than one the things I look for in a movie.
The starring casts and Vinnie Jones' performance and memorable quotes such as "It's been emotional" put this movie firmly in my top 6.

A Clockwork Orange has made it into my top 6 movies of all time mainly because of its uniqueness and the way it pushed the boundaries of what is acceptable in a movie. The extreme violence and surrealism makes it very interesting and captivating to me.

The emotional and moral issues raised in this film make it truly memorable. Set in a mental hospital the film allows you to develop a relationship with the inmates and gets you on their side as they attempt to break out of the hospital.

Based on a Steven King novella, The Shawshank Redemption is arguably the best movie of all time and definitely deserves its place in my top 6.

The story of a man convicted of murder and sentenced to two back to back life sentences on purely circumstantial evidence may not seem like the most uplifting of plots. However the story keeps you guessing about what is going to happen in the end and when the end comes it doesn't disapoint.
